About Paul Briggs

Paul Briggs is a pastor/artist with an extensive background in art education. He has taught art and education from kindergarten through the university level and remains an exhibiting artist while pastoring the historic Antioch Baptist Church in Bedford Hills, NY. Antioch has been called the “conscience of the community” and the church sponsors a number of social justice awareness events including the ever-popular Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Interfaith Worship Service. He is also a member of Unity Made Visible whose purpose is to promote enduring interfaith cooperation.

While an artist, a skilled draftsman, designer and painter, his primary focus is on ceramic art. His work has been nationally exhibited and was recently added to the permanent collection of the Wellesley College Multi-faith Center. Paul was trained in art and ceramics at Alfred University where he received his masters. He earned his doctorate in Art Education from Penn State. (Photo credit: M. Fox)
